Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD)
The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) is a Ghanaian government-controlled institution that fixes the buying price for cocoa in Ghana. Farmers are protected from the volatile prices on the world market through the price-fixing. Besides the higher quality hybrid seeds are sold by the organization and some research on cocoa plant-related diseases are also carried out.
Licensed Cocoa Buyers Association of Ghana
An association of companies that have been licensed to trade in the internal marketing of cocoa in Ghana. Licensed cocoa buying companies [LBCs] came together to form the association after the last liberalization of cocoa purchasing in Ghana; and became incorporated under the laws of Ghana on November 23, 2010.
